What is CORENET X?

CORENET X is Singapore's next-generation digital regulatory approval platform developed by BCA and URA. It replaces traditional document-based submissions with a collaborative BIM-driven workflow, enabling project teams and regulatory agencies to review coordinated digital models throughout the approval process. As the industry continues transitioning towards digital delivery, BIM models are expected to contain structured information rather than geometry alone.

Understanding IFC+SG

At the heart of CORENET X is IFC+SG, Singapore's extension of the international Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) openBIM standard. Unlike a conventional IFC export, IFC+SG incorporates additional data structures and parameters required by Singapore's regulatory agencies, allowing BIM models to carry the information necessary for digital review and automated validation.
